Perinatal Mental Health

Individual Therapy

When we ask OBGYNs “what’s the number one wellness service they wish their patients had?” it’s therapy. Motherhood is a journey, and it often affects our own mental health. In fact, depression and anxiety disorders are the number one complication of pregnancy. Let’s keep our minds well and start talking!

IVF and Infertility Counseling

I provide expert support and counseling as you navigate each step and make challenging decisions about planning your family. I understand this process can feel daunting, invasive, and comes with many challenges. We will work together to help you stay healthy and resilient through it all.

Pregnancy or Infant Loss

Experiencing miscarriage at any point in pregnancy can be a shocking and devastating event. Many women struggle with physical and emotional pain and grief that is powerful and overwhelming. Miscarriage, or infant loss can leave women feeling distressed, helpless and isolated from others. You deserve a space to process your grief, and find a way to move forward, knowing that you are forever changed.

Support groups

Connecting with other mothers can be immensely therapeutic. If interested, please inquire when the next support group begins.

Couples Therapy

Step into parenthood on your strongest foot yet. Learn to communicate, support each other, and parent from a grounded place in your relationship.

Mothers deserve to be well.

Planning a pregnancy, becoming pregnant, giving birth, and becoming a parent can all be uniquely challenging and psychologically or emotionally intense. Often, people experience anxiety or depression for the first time as they navigate it all. Some have already struggled with psychological difficulties and want to make sure they are taking extra care of themselves throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Statistically, %15 percent of women will experience a Perinatal Mood or Anxiety Disorder (PMAD), which means they will feel clinical levels of anxiety or depression.

As you can see, there are many reasons to seek mental health support in the perinatal period. From becoming pregnant, through pregnancy, postpartum, and into parenthood, we face many challenges and deserve a space to invest in our own wellbeing.
